In addition to eyebrow shaping services, such as waxing threading, we offer offers semi-permanent, synthetic lashes, coined Illumilash, to show off when going to the club, party or get together that can last up to two months with proper care and maintenance.
Studio Brow offers four degrees of Illumilash Eyelash Extensions; Natural, Lovely, Elegant and Gorgeous going on your individual style and fit.
We use a surgical grade, water-resistant adhesive to bond the extensions to your natural lashes, so you can shower, swim or exercise, worry-free.
Eyelash extensions will lengthen and thicken your lashes and also can eliminate the need for mascara.
Studio Brow’s services are performed by our own certified “Browstars” who have become licensed cosmetologists taught by experienced professionals to provide eyelash extensions.
Enhancements designed to add length, thickness and fullness to natural eyelashes, eyelash extensions may be compared to hair extensions for one’s eyelashes.
Some brief history of eyelash extensions: The Greek word for eyelash is “blepharis“. This word is often used as a root in biological terms. Kohl, a black powder (usually antimony sulfide or lead sulfide), has been worn as far back as the Bronze Age to protect and enhance lashes. In Ancient Egypt, it was used as well by the wealthy and the royal to protect their eyes from the sand, dust and bugs. Modern eye makeup includes mascara, eyeliner, eye putty and eye shadow to emphasize the eyes.The invention and use of eyelashes extensions began in 1916 when director D.W. Griffith was making his film, Intolerance. He wanted actress Seena Owen to have lashes “that brushed her cheeks, to make her eyes shine larger than life.” These first eyelash extensions were made of human hair woven through fine gauze by a local wig maker. They were then attached to Owen’s eyelashes.
